Corneal Transplant Surgery

Cornea Transplant Restores Seriously Damaged Sight

Surgery is the only effective procedure to restore sight once the cornea has been severely damaged. The outpatient corneal transplant procedure is an organ transplant, whereby the damaged cornea is replaced with a healthy one. Corneas for organ transplant are provided by the eye bank which carefully screens all corneas to ensure safety and obtains the corneas in a professional and compassionate manner.

Endothelial keratoplasty: Corneal transplant surgery that removes the area of damaged tissue and replaces it with donated corneal tissue.

Keratoplasty: Corneal transplant surgery where the entire damaged cornea is replaced with a donated cornea.

Northwest Eye Surgeons has been performing corneal transplants for over 15 years, and in cooperation with SightLife has helped hundreds regain sight. Working with your personal eye care physician, our surgeons will help you through the transplant surgery and the healing process to a complete recovery.
